 e Garden. 101 years later, we&#039;ll revisit the master&#039;s career, fo
 cusing on his technical prowess and political conscience. The focal point 
 of our conversation will be Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt, but Lifeboat 
 and Rope will also be discussed at length. Seeing all three films would be
  recommended (but of course not necessary).Please watch the film on your o
 wn before the discussion.Jeff Hughes is a PhD student in American Studies 
 at Rutgers University-Newark, after earning multiple degrees from the Mart
 in Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies at New York University&#039;s Tis
 ch School of the Arts. He is a frequent film lecturer at the Jacob Burns F
 ilm Center in Pleasantville, NY.
