What kind of daily life, responsibilities, limitations and advantages did women have in Ancient Egypt? Were they treated well and respected? Could a woman become Pharaoh? We dig into women’s realities of this fascinating and surprisingly equal ancient society. This month we celebrate women in all time periods and places!

Presented by:

Marisa Horowitz- Jaffe has been teaching, studying and living ancient history for over 25 years. Her background includes double Bachelor’s degrees in Egyptology & Roman Archaeology, with an Art History minor, from The University of Michigan, followed by a Master’s degree from Harvard University in Art and Museum Education. She spent two decades working in elite NYC art museum education departments, and ­­­­now enjoys bringing her own artifacts and mobile museum to teach enrichment programs in schools, libraries and community groups.
