Program Description

Event Details

When one thinks of the composers of the Great American songbook the names Arlen, Berlin, Gershwin, Kern, Porter and
Rodgers immediately leap to mind. But Harry Warren? If you spend an hour listening to Diane Cypkin sing his songs and
tell his story you’ll realize that there isn’t another hit-making composer quite like him. And while you may not know his
name, you probably know his music as many of the standards he wrote are as famous and timeless as any by the other
great tunesmiths of the golden age of stage and screen.  You will hear hits such as  Forty- Second Street, Chattanooga Choo Choo and The More I See You.  Between songs you’ll learn about Harry’s straight out of Hollywood rags-to-riches story and the theater and film industries in which he thrived.
