Event Details

Some say George Gershwin “Brought jazz into the concert Hall”. But what does that really mean? And what other styles might he have touched and possibly altered? We’ll talk about this American Music icon’s eclectic history, milestones of his all-too-short musical life, and listen to some of his works with George himself at the piano.

Presented by:  Barry Wiesenfeld is an internationally recognized award-winning musician, and is on the music faculty of the State University of New York and Ramapo College. He has accompanied Grammy-, Tony- and RMI-winning artists, performed on three continents and has played on numerous recordings, radio and TV. Barry’s lecture series has been enjoyed both around the U.S. and abroad. For more information or to contact Barry, please visit www.barrybassist.com.
