Program Description

Event Details

Beatrix Farrand, born of a well to do New York family, rose to the pinnacle of the male-dominated field of Landscape Architecture . Another strength she discovered was how to problem-solve with site challenges, but also had a strong eye for art & beauty cultivated by her Mom & Charles Sprague Sargeant. She added her ecological wisdom to more than 200 hundred projects, combining the best of Italian Renaissance, English design, along with architectural & natural environments.

Presented by: Jennifer Yates is an experienced and award-winning landscape designer with a gift for color and structure to create harmonious landscape designs.  Her training began with a Bachelor's in Interior Architecture with training in Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design, followed by the study of Art History at Brown University.  She also studied horticulture and landscape architecture at the New York Botanical Gardens, and completed certification from the Northeast Organic Farming Association.
